From spadin to a shorter fragment
Djillani and colleagues at CNRS and Universite Cote d'Azur described PE-22-28 in 2017 after studying fragments of spadin. The name marks residues 22 through 28 of the sortilin propeptide, giving a seven-amino-acid sequence. Spadin corresponds to the longer 12-28 segment. The study treated PE-22-28 and its terminally modified derivatives as separate constructs.
